There is some great news for Tampa Bay concerning the coronavirus!
According to WUSF News, Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis has secured a ration of the drug hydroxychloroquine and is sending a portion of it to the Tampa Bay area. Hydroxychloroquine is being credited for a number of coronavirus cures, not only in the United States, but around the world.
In a press conference held on Saturday (3/28), DeSantis stated that not only did he have the anti-malaria drug on it’s way, but a batch of quick test kits as well that give results inside an hour.
In the report by WUSF, Gov. Ron DeSantis said he, “Worked with David Friedman, the U.S. ambassador to Israel – who he said he considers a friend — to arrange the shipment from Israeli company Teva Pharmaceuticals.”
I say BRILLIANT move, Mr. Governor! Outsource when you can’t get the product locally. Remember, the federal government is saturating New York, California and Washington state with most of the needed hydroxychloroquine and test kits.
DeSantis is further quoted as saying, “We’ve now arranged shipments of the hydroxychloroquine to be sent to hospital systems in Dade County, Broward and Hillsborough. Once they have it, if other hospitals need it, we want to be able to help everybody throughout the state.”
And of more interest, according to TrustNodes.com, France has now officially sanctioned the use of prescriptions of chloroquine to treat corona. This comes after a large scale double blinded trial (the so called gold standard) produced clinical results that show out of 80 patients treated with chloroquine, 78 recovered within 5 days.
The Trustnodes article goes on to say that in America, considerable politics has developed over chloroquine. But, New York should be out with the results on Monday, which may lead to a US wide sanctioned usage of treatment. This would be amazing news.
So, exhale folks. And remain calm… this will pass.
