Summer time usually means plenty of gatherings in Tampa. Will that happen this year?

Santiago Corrada is the president of Visit Tampa Bay, and he shares good news regarding summer conventions. There are a total of 32 conventions on the books for the summer. Santiago said, “We’ve been holding on to a big biker’s rally that’s due to come to the fairgrounds at the end of June. [We also have] Tampa Bay Comic Con. We actually have the Florida Bar Examiner’s still coming to Tampa and having the Florida Bar here.”

Now at these conventions, things will be different.

Santiago further explained, “[Normally] we’ve got table seating and there are 12 to a table, or you’ve got auditorium seating and everybody’s shoulder to shoulder. I don’t think that’s going to be the norm in the foreseeable future,” said Corrada.

New rules will also be in place at Comic Con, and if you want to find out more about this, click here.

What’s open, what’s closed in Tampa Bay…

Some Florida businesses are reopening as the number of COVID-19 cases begin to go down. Many have limited hours and capacity so it’s a good idea to call ahead.
