Due to the Coronavirus, there are changes happening with our waste pick up in Hillsborough County.

COVID-19 has reached the truck drivers who work hard each day to pick up our waste, and because of that, recycling will not be collected for the indefinite future. Waste Connections said they have to prioritize keeping twice-per-week trash collection. So, Blue recycling carts will not be emptied “until further notice.” They did say if you live in Hillsborough County and still want  to recycle you can drop off you recyclables at one of the county’s community collection centers, and they are open Monday through Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Find out if you are affected by visiting HCFLGov.net/trash and clicking on the “Find my trash and recycling” tab. [Source: FOX 13]

Oh, and one last thing from the county:

“If customers experience a missed garbage collection this week, please place the residential waste out for collection on the next scheduled service day.”
