Kevin Kiermaier #39 of the Tampa Bay Rays makes a speech in the locker room during celebrations following clinching a wild card spot after defeating the Toronto Blue Jays their MLB game at the Rogers Centre on September 27, 2019 in Toronto, Canada.

It’s going to be a weird season. We already know that. But this Tampa Bay Rays team does seem to have the potential. Even Las Vegas seems to think so.

With the news that a baseball season will be happening after all, Las Vegas oddsmakers are placing their bets on who will win the World Series. So how do they think the Tampa Bay Rays will do? has the Rays tied for 6th with the Washington Nationals. Hey out of 30, that’s not so bad. And it’s a heck of a lot better than our friends to the south. The Miami Marlins are given 750/1 odds of winning it all. That means a $10 bet would land you $7,500 if they were to shock the world.

The Rays are at 18/1 odds. So that $10 would only pretty much buy you a meal at Bern’s. The only 5 teams who ranked higher than the Rays: the Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros, New York Yankees (ugh) and the favorite for right now, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

But imagine it. After all we’ve been through in 2020, how great would a Rays World Series win be? I mean, I’d still prefer a vaccine. But nonetheless… going back and looking at these pics from the last big celebration the Rays got to have, it would be pretty awesome. Even if we can’t have a parade to celebrate.
