Potential Big Bargain For Tampa Concert Lovers
2020 was a dud for concerts in Tampa with the coronavirus mess. There are still a handful of shows on the list for 2020 that have NOT been canceled or postponed, but it’s a wait and see game to see if that changes. For now, Hall & Oates, Cher and Jimmy Buffett are the last three concerts that are, at least for now, still on.
Most concerts were not canceled. They were postponed until next summer. On the Live Nation website, they already have a form you can fill out to purchase 2021 season tickets. That might end up being the best bargain in years given that you’ll see both the tours that were scheduled for 2020 as well as the ones that were going to happen in 2021 anyway.
Do keep in mind though that rescheduled dates for the Rolling Stones, Elton John, Guns N’ Roses or Motley Crue won’t be included, as those are not Amphitheatre shows. But the 2021 lineup is already pretty solid given that we should get performances that were postponed like the Black Crowes, Chicago (although without Rick Springfield), Matchbox Twenty, Maroon 5, the Backstreet Boys, Doobie Brothers, Alanis Morrisette and Santana with Earth, Wind & Fire.
Back in December, the venue offered a lawn seat for every concert in 2020 for $199. It was a bit of a gamble at the time. Not because of the coronavirus – we didn’t know much about that yet. The risk was that not many concerts had been announced yet. If they offer it again in December this year, I’d do it!
