Highs will hit 96 today! Whoa!

Just four days into summer, and it already feels like the longest summer ever. How can we keep our homes cool in the sweltering heat?

Here are some tips:

1. Close your blinds. (Or really get efficient with blackout curtains.) Thirty percent of excess heat comes from windows.

2. Switch our your sheets. Cotton is the best fabric to use if you want to stay cool.

3. Fix your ceiling fan rotation. Set it so that it is running counter-clockwise for summers.

4. Change your own body temperature rather than changing the A.C. Drink iced drinks, apply cool cloths to neck and wrists, cooling yourself from the inside out is not a bad idea.
