Billie Joe Armstrong made his triumphant return to his "No Fun Mondays" cover series with the release of his take on John Lennon's "Gimme Some Truth."

Armstrong writes in the video's description on YouTube, "Welcome to No Fun Monday hump day. This song was written by John Lennon. The first time I heard it was from one of my all-time faves Generation X! My version lands somewhere in between."

This marks the first new cover released by Armstrong since late May when he joined up with his Green Day bandmates for a fun rendition of Blondie's "Dreaming."

Armstrong launched his "No Fun Mondays" cover series back on March 23 with his version of Tommy James and the Shondells' "I Think We’re Alone Now."
