If you’re active and haven’t been exposed to COVID-19 yet, the Coronavirus Prevention Network wants to hear from you. The US Department of Health and Human Services announced the launch of the website this week looking for those who want to be a part of testing for a vaccine for COVID-19. The study is being funded by the National Institutes of Health, according to CNN. The site says they will conduct “Phase 3 vaccine and monoclonal antibody efficacy studies” to prevent the virus.

They say this is not a treatment for COVID-19. It’s to prevent you from getting it in the first place. Applicants will be interviewed about their medical history and there could be a physical exam. If selected for the study, they say you may need to make 10 visits over a two year period. As with many studies like this, you may not actually get the treatment – you might get a placebo. They say if you become ill with COVID-19, they’ll work to get you care.

The map of locations around the country of clinical research sites shows about 3 locations in the Tampa Bay area. There are also locations in Miami, Jacksonville, and many in the Orlando area. [Source: CNN, CPN]
