The REAL Stars of the Q105 Saturday Night Dance Party
Geno isn’t the star of the Q105 Saturday Night Dance Party. Nor is DJ Paul S, DJ Hoof, Speedy Junior, DJ Slice or Nestor Cruz.
YOU are the star of the show Saturday nights. It’s your calls, requests and stories that bring the PARTY to The Q105 Saturday Night Dance Party. These callers are among our favorites – they bring the energy every Saturday night. They call so often they have “VIP” status on the show with their own show nicknames!
Dr. Steven
He’s been with us since week 1 when Geno took over the Saturday Night Dance Party in 2019. Not many of our callers have a degree in beats. (Well heartbeats.) This doctor from St. Pete prescribes great old school jams to cure whatever ails you.
Tow Truck Todd
There’s no parking on the dance floor… so get dancing or this weekly caller from Seffner will tow you! Todd calls in from the road as he tows away those cars parked illegally all over the Tampa Bay.
Rollerskatin’ Rana
Usually en route to a roller skating rink when she calls in, Rana rolls up to the party every Saturday night with a great 80s classic. One of these days, we need to do a SNDP roller skating night!
Debbie Deb
When she hears music, it makes her dance. OK so it’s not THAT Debbie Deb. At least we don’t think it’s that Debbie Deb. But whatever. Lookout weekend! Deb always calls with a great old school jam!
Date Night David & Dawn
Dawn is no longer with us, but David says every Saturday night is still date night for them and the SNDP provides the soundtrack. David’s story shows how the power of music lets us go back in time and reconnect in a way the real world sometimes can’t.
Pool Guy Sean
Sean earned the name after posting videos of his backyard light show. As the SNDP beats play, lasers light up his pool. Go to our Q105 Saturday Night Dance Party Facebook page and check out the videos he’s posted. He’s got a dance club in his backyard!
Long Island Peggy
No she’s not named after iced tea. Her thick accent and brash New York attitude earned her the name! She’s a Pasco gal now, but when you hear her on the show, you know she’s all New York!
3 Tips For When You Call
We get hundreds of calls every Saturday night and with a 5 hour show, we only get to play 60 or 70 songs. So how do you get to the front of the line for requests on the Q105 Saturday Night Dance Party? Ask these pros! We don’t read tweets or texts. It’s an old school show so we take requests the old school way – on the phone! Call 800-990-1047. The first hour or two, the phone lines are super busy. If you get busy signals, the later in the night you call, the easier it gets to get through!
WHEN YOU CALL… BRING THE PARTY TO THE SATURDAY NIGHT DANCE PARTY!
Be ready to have fun! When someone calls all bummed out, it bums us out! Tell us what you’re celebrating tonight. Make us laugh! Or tell Geno why you’re requesting the song you picked… how do you remember it? What memories does it bring back?
PICKING A SONG TO REQUEST
Pick a song lots of people love! While we sometimes like to play those forgotten classics, if it’s one that only a few will remember, it’s better for our Facebook page. On the radio, we play those big party hits that pack the dance floor!
DOES IT HAVE TO BE FROM THE 80s?
The Saturday Night Dance Party airs during Q105’s ’80s Party Weekend, so you have a better chance to hear your song fast if it’s from the ’80s! But we do bend the rules a little. We slide in lots of ’90s songs and a few from ’70s once in a while. But if it’s from the 70s or 90s, it’s gotta be one of those big hits we mentioned. If it’s obscure, we’ll try to get to it, but it might take a while to get on.
