As Amazon continues to expand its presence in the Tampa Bay area, one of the recently announced locations will begin hiring to fill positions.
Associates hired for the million square foot location in Auburndale will work with technology that will do much of the heavy work, picking, packing and shipping larger packages. Along with the huge warehouse, Amazon is adding a fulfillment center which will speed up deliveries in the Lakeland area.
This, along with properties that Amazon has purchased recently in Temple Terrace and Seffner, will increase employment opportunites in the Tampa Bay area, along with speeding up deliveries for local orders.
Once completed, Amazon will have added 6.8 million square feet in facilities to the Tampa Bay area, including Lakeland, Ruskin, Temple Terrace and Pasco County, in addition to an air cargo hub at Lakeland International Airport.
