Paul McCartney discusses the first song he and John Lennon wrote together - and even plays a little bit of it - in an upcoming BBC Radio 2 special.
Per Music-News.com, the two-part John Lennon at 80 special will air on BBC Radio 2 on October 3 and 4 and features Sean Ono Lennon interviewing McCartney, Elton John and Julian Lennon.
During the special honoring Lennon's 80th birthday, McCartney touches on the first song he and Lennon ever wrote together called "Just Fun." Sir Paul says, "There were a few songs that weren't very good ... you know, clearly young songwriters who don't know how to do it. Eventually, we started to write slightly better songs and then enjoyed the process of learning together so much that it really took off."
A clip of McCartney playing the song hasn't been released, but don't be surprised if it surfaces via fan-upload to YouTube once the special airs.
Macca also had some touching words to say about meeting Lennon for the first time saying, "I look back on it now like a fan, how lucky was I to meet this strange teddy boy off the bus, who played music like I did and we get together and boy, we complemented each other!"
That sure is putting it lightly!
