The holidays are growing closer, and this year it's expected many shoppers will go online instead of heading to stores, but how will they be sure to avoid porch pirates? Hillsborough County has a plan.
The Sheriff's Office is launching “Operation Pinch-A-Grinch” in an effort to help protect residents from theft. The plan gives Hillsborough County residents the opportunity to have their online-purchased packages delivered to district offices, at extra no cost to the resident. The packages can then be picked up from the Sheriff's Office.
Packages can be shipped through UPS, FedEx, USPS, and Amazon during the program which runs from November 9, 2020 until December 21, 2020. Packages will not be accepted after December 21. Delivers need to be made to District III or District V. Packages would need to be addressed:
For District III
[Recipient Name]
c/o Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office
7202 Gunn Highway
Tampa, FL 33625
For District V
[Recipient Name]

The packages will be stored securely and can be picked up during these hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 11:30 AM - 7:30 PM, Sunday 11:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Residents may not make pickups on Thanksgiving or Black Friday.
