A Tampa Sears Being Being Turned Into Family Entertainment
As Sears locations are being closed down, one of them has already become the site of a new project.
The Westfield Citrus Park location closed in 2018, and a new developer has plans for the location. PrimeTime Amusements is swooping in to turn the 125,000 sq. ft. Sears into a fun place for families. There will be games like bowling, mini-golf and arcades, plus conference rooms, a full bar, a restaurant, and even an area for kids 10 years old and younger.
Approvals came from Hillsborough County and the project is expected to be completed near the end of 2021. This could be a model for future expansion for similar projects. There’s already a sister company to PrimeTime Amusements in Ft. Lauderdale named Xtreme Action Park, and it has some similar features, plus go carts and rope courses.
