Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran announced today that school students in Florida will be permitted to continue remote learning during the second half of the school year.
Corcoran explained to the State Board of Education, “From the top down in this state, that will absolutely happen. There is no flexibility for anything but that.”
Governor Ron DeSantis and Corcoran agree that families ought to have the option to choose between face-to-face instruction or distance learning for their children. Many families and educators believe that not having students participating in in-person learning away from school can have negative physical and mental health and effects.
