This latest agreement moves a step closer to making trips to Walt Disney World even easier.
Walt Disney World and Brightline, the rail company with plans to connect Tampa and Orlando, have come to an agreement that puts a train station at Disney Springs. The station would be multi-level, with a lobby on the lower level and a raised platform for the trains. Previously reported was a deal for Brightline to build a station in Ybor City.
The leg connecting Tampa to Orlando will come after the rail company builds a line to West Palm Beach, which already has a connection south to Miami.
This high-speed rail plan means what Brightline President Patrick Goddard refers to as “a car-free connection” for visitors around the state of Florida to Walt Disney World Resort.
The connection to West Palm Beach is expected to be completed in 2022, and from Orlando to Tampa in 2025.
