If you’d like to participate in a vaccine trial, USF Health and Tampa General Hospital were chosen to be involved in a Phase 3 clinical trial.

Tampa General Hospital announced they will be part of a trial for a vaccine created by Novavax. Tampa General, in connection with USF Health, is looking for 250 volunteers. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

According to Tampa General Hospital in a statement:

The Novavax Phase 3 clinical trial is evaluating NVX-CoV2373, an investigational vaccine that has shown promising results for increasing the body’s immune response to the COVID-19 virus.

The test will be handled by giving one group, roughly two-thirds of the participants, injections twice, three weeks apart. The rest would receive a placebo.

In total, 30,000 participants will be involved in the study.
