Sometimes you renovate. Sometimes you start from scratch. That's what Publix plans to do with their store on Gandy, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal. They say the Publix at 3615 West Gandy will be demolished. The new store is actually a little bit smaller.

Another Publix in the area is about to open one a week from today on December 10. It's at 4315 West Gandy. It used to be a Winn Dixie. The TBBJ says the last time they took down a Publix in South Tampa, the rebuilding took about 8 months.
