Yesterday the City of Tampa issued a “Boil Water” notice after a water main break. And one Tampa Bay amusement park is closed because of it.
This is according to Busch Gardens official website: Due to a water main break impacting the city of Tampa, the park will be closed Tuesday, December 8. We are actively working with the appropriate community contacts and will share additional updates to park operations when available.
The park closed Monday following the water main break.
If you live in the City of Tampa or live in Eastlake, Fairview, Herschel Heights, Pebble Creek, Palm River, or Seaboard, you are advised to follow boil water guidelines.
Here are the steps you should take:
1. Bring water to a rolling boil and let it boil for one minute.
2. Pour the water from one container to another a handful of times. This aerates the water.
3. Put in the refrigerator.
At this point, the City of Tampa has not released information as to how long this boil water notice will last.
The City of Tampa has also announced that irrigation watering is not permitted at this time. Affected residents need to shut off all automatic sprinkler systems, etc.
No word on when repairs will be completed and the notice will be lifted.
