He was the top scorer on the team, but thanks to an injury, he’s set to have surgery and will miss most, if not all, of the upcoming season.

Nikita Kucherov led the Tampa Bay Lightning in scoring for the past five seasons. Now, Kuch is headed for hip surgery. That means he’ll be out and will hope to maybe return for the playoffs. He holds the record for most assists in a season by a winger and most points in a season by a Russian-born player.

In other news, according to Dan Lucas of News Channel 8, Lightning team captain Steven Stamkos is expected to return for the 2020-2021 season. The Lightning’s schedule for the new season has been released.
