Walt Disney World Announces Latest Changes

What's consistent at Walt Disney World right now is that there are changes happening. The latest announcements were made this week.

The park-hopper option returned with the new year. You still need to reserve the date you'd like to visit, but you can visit a second park after 2pm. Entry into a second park is still subject to capacity.

Walt Disney World announced that extra magic hours will not be returning. This was a perk of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. It allowed guests to enter park either an hour before the park opening, or to stay three hours later after the park closed. There was a rotating schedule for which parks were offering the perk. What is replacing this for the 50th anniversary is that guests staying in Disney resort hotels can enter parks 30 minutes before opening. This will be available for all parks every day for resort guests. The start date for this perk will be announced soon.

EPCOT's 'Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts' is running through February 22. Enjoy food, performances and artwork. Some of those might even be combined together, such as the Artist Palette Cookie!

As announced, Blizzard Beach water park is set to open March 7.

This won't have a major impact on many Disney fans from the Tampa Bay area, or even all of Florida. It just might, however, have an impact on visitors from the rest of the world. Disney is putting an end to the Magical Express bus system beginning in 2022. These is the transportation system for guests who fly to Orlando that brings them straight to Walt Disney World.
