Nik Wallenda To Perform Stunt At Florida Theme Park
Sarasota’s own Nik Wallenda, famous for his death-defying performances, will walk the high wire in Florida.
Legoland Florida Resort has a new stunt show, and Nik Wallenda will be on hand to kick it off on February 12th. Wallenda will perform his high wire act 60 feet over above the ground. He will walk over 500 feet across the wire.
Nik Wallenda is known for his high-wire act that has taken him around the world. Some of his more well-known performances have crossed over sites including:
- Niagara Falls
- Little Colorado River Gorge
- Two skyscrapers in Chicago
- The Masaya Volcano in Nicaragua
In 2017, during a rehearsal of an eight-person pyramid stunt in Sarasota, Nik was with family members as the pyramid collapsed. Several members suffered serious injuries, but everyone survived. Nik managed to hang on to the wire.
Here’s a clip from Nik Wallenda’s walk over Niagara Falls. At around 2:10 into the video, Nik talks to the hosts of the broadcast. At that time, when he tells how drained he is, you can see the clouds of moisture from the falls moving around him.
