Super Bowl 55 in Tampa is going to have a very different look than what we eagerly anticipated when it was first announced we'd be the host in 2021. Much has happened and we're certainly not out of the woods with COVID-19. And February 7 is fast approaching. It's been debated for months whether or not fans should be in the stands. Right now, Channel 8 says the NFL plans to sell about 20% of the seats.
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor has an idea. Instead of football fans with deep pockets who pay thousands for a single ticket, she wants the seats filled by health care workers who've been vaccinated. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is a fan of the idea. Goodell says "These frontline workers have put their own lives at risk."

The seats I care about most are those on the player's bench. The Bucs are off to a great start after that win last weekend. Now they're off to New Orleans to play the Saints Sunday night. If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers go all the way, they'd be the first team to ever host and play in the Super Bowl. [Source: Channel 8]
