No Firing Of The Cannons During The Super Bowl?
As Bucs fans, we love to hear the firing of the cannons at Raymond James Stadium when the Bucs are in the Red Zone.
But that may not be happening during the Big Game. NFL bigwigs got together to discuss certain protocol and on the agenda were items that have never come up before because the actual home team has never been in the Super Bowl in their own town.
For example, some of the Buccaneers stadium traditions are being reviewed. The firing of the cannons MAY be one of those rituals that gets scrapped. It hasn’t been determined yet. Do you think it’s something that would pile on to the Bucs having so much advantage being the home team at their home stadium?
NFL Vice President of Live Events, Jon Barker explained, “We will work with the game presentation team for both clubs…they will put in their requests. We will review them to make sure whatever it is that we are doing is equal with both teams. Those conversations are ongoing.”
The cannons and rituals issues weren’t the only items up for discussion. Those in charge want to make sure there is a plan in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“Every fan, every guest, every person working at the stadium when they arrive will receive a kn95 mask, will receive bacterial wipes,” John said.
The Super Bowl Experience at Julian B. Lane park is set up with a reservation system to prevent large crowds.
