Publix was number 48 on the list, but it led the "Food and Drugstores" category. With their headquarters in Lakeland, Publix led the way as the highest ranked Tampa Bay area business.

Others on the list include Raymond James Financial of St. Petersburg and Tech Data from Clearwater. Raymond James landed at #252 while Tech Data Corp. was #291. Tech Data was also ranked number 2 in the category of "Wholesalers: Electronics and Office Equipment".

The overall top companies on Fortune's "World’s Most Admired Companies" list were Apple, who topped the list, followed by Amazon, Microsoft, Walt Disney and Starbucks, rounding out the top 5.
