Tampa Bay Buccaneer Headed To Pro Football Hall Of Fame Class Of 2021
It’s been a long time coming, but the Pro Football Hall of Fame has added another Buccaneer who won a Super Bowl ring in 2003.
John Lynch played as a safety for the Buccaneers from 1993 until 2003. During that time, Lynch was selected for the Pro Bowl five times. In 2016, he was honored in the Tampa Buccaneers Ring of Honor. He was known as one of the hardest hitting defenders in the game.
The Stanford graduate was drafted in 1993 in the 2nd round. He was also drafted by the Florida Marlins as a right-handed pitcher. He spent 1992 and 1993 in the minor leagues.
Since retiring from playing, Lynch became a broadcaster for Fox. He later went back to the game when he was named General Manager of the San Francisco 49ers in 2017.
He’s the fourth Buccaneer selected for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He’ll join Lee Roy Selmon, Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks as inductees.
