Fans cheer before Super Bowl LV at Raymond James Stadium.

FEBRUARY 9 UPDATE: The Buccaneers have confirmed parade plans, including route, start time, viewing locations and information for boaters. Full story here.

Original story from February 8:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans have had some time to let it sink in. The Bucs are Super Bowl champions. The City of Tampa is about to release the details of where and when the team will celebrate with fans. Clear your schedule for tomorrow (February 10)!

Just like the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Bucs will set sail with the Vince Lombardi trophy with a boat parade. An exact start time and parade route hasn’t been confirmed yet according to Channel 8, but it sounds like festivities will take place midday.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that the boat parade will start at 1pm and that unlike the Lightning’s celebration, boats in the area will not be allowed to join in. They also report there won’t be a post-boat parade celebration like the Lightning had at Raymond James Stadium. The Times went on to say that city officials still haven’t finalized starting and ending locations, but an official announcement could be coming later tonight. Fans will be able to see the parade along the Riverwalk, Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, and Curtis Hixon Park. Fans who can’t attend in person can watch a live stream on Bucs social media.

Fox 13’s Kevin O’Donnell tweeted that the boat parade may go in the opposite direction of the Lightning’s boat parade.

Many fans on social media are expressing frustration with the last minute nature of the planning. Many say they will be upset to miss the event since they’ll be at work. But the weather forecast shows a much higher chance of rain this weekend. Some say waters could be too choppy as the weekend gets closer for a boat parade. Also you have to think most players are likely anxious to get back to their home cities.

The City says they plan to ensure fan safety by enforcing social distancing guidelines and the use of face masks. We should have an update shortly. Check back! [Source: Channel 8, Tampa Bay Times]
