Could Aerial Gondolas Be Coming to St. Pete?

It's been in talks for a long time. But now it looks like gondolas could be flying over our heads pretty soon.

The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transit Authority (TBARTA) was recently given a million dollars to conduct a transit study on potential gondolas and what impact they could have in the Bay. These types of technologies are popping up everywhere around the world, and Orlando is supposed to be getting their version of air taxis by 2025.

Experts are hopeful that gondolas could being a positive impact to our city. However, estimated price ranges for rides on the gondolas could be from $60-$90, according to Mass Transit Magazine.
