Favorite Valrico Seafood Restaurant Reopening Soon

We brought the sad news in December that a popular seafood restaurant in Valrico was closing. Now we’ve heard good news!

Fans of Willie’s: The Place for Seafood can rejoice. In December, the restaurant shut down after 45 years, but word is that the owners of Fat Willie’s are working to reopen! Bill “Fat Willie” Robinson’s nephew, Chris Pate and friend Roy Mireles are investing money and hard work to bring the restaurant back.

The target for the grand reopening is April, 2021.

Fans of the restaurant have pushed to reopen in the 106-year-old building that has housed the restaurant for so long.

The owners are able to bring back great seafood, but the cost of repairing the building is daunting. There’s a GoFundMe page to help those who’d like to donate to the repair of the fantastic, old building.
