During the game, a trespasser ran onto the field. It wasn't until Deputy Clinton Stearns stepped in that the runner was brought to a sudden stop. You may have read about the deputy who played high school football in Plant City and went on to play for USF. His most well-known tackle, however came in the Super Bowl.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers stepped up and gave Deputy Clinton Stearns a special, personalized game ball to commemorate the occasion. The Buccaneers COO presented the deputy with the football with the statement, "Thank you for the best in-game tackle".
