So he might be a ‘mastermind’ when it comes to hacking, but the teen will face some serious penalties for his actions.
18-year-old Gaither High School student Graham Clark plead guilty to the hacking and fraud he committed in July of 2020. The teen hacked multiple high-profile Twitter accounts, including Bill Gates, Elon Musk and former President Barack Obama.
He used the accounts to acquire over $100,000. His arrest came days later. As a “Youthful Offender”, his guilty plea bought him three years in a juvenile facility followed by three years of probation. If he violates any of the terms of his probation, he could be looking at a full mandatory 10 year sentence that an adult would have received.
Clark will need permission to use any electronics and supervisors will have unlimited access to his electronic devices. Searches related to him will be unannounced and unlimited.
