According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, a man identified as Russell Lindemeyer held a woman hostage. He stabbed her in excess of fifteen times.
On Saturday afternoon, deputies had no choice but to shoot Lindemeyer at a Hudson home. The deputies had responded to the stabbing at 1:20 P.M.
The deputies entered the home and discovered Lindeymeyer holding a woman at knifepoint.
Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco described the situation. “She (the victim) was absolutely covered in blood like a horror movie. Fortunately, thank God, I hope she will be OK. Those prayers do matter for her but this just shows the sad reality of what deputies deal with every day.”
Deputies instructed Lindemeyer to drop the knife and remove it from the victim’s throat. He ignored them.
Both deputies then fired at the man. The deputies saved the woman’s life by putting a tourniquet on her. She was transported as a trauma alert.
According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect and victim were in a “close personal relationship.”
Lindemeyer was 49 years old and his prior arrest was for battery charges in 2014.
