The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports that Amazon might build a 100,000 square foot facility in Pinellas Park. They say the area in Gateway Centre Business Park was purchased by Tavistock Development for nearly $3 million. Amazon has been rumored to be the future occupant. The TBBJ thinks that Amazon would use the space as a “last mile” location… meaning that this is where products will go before they get delivered to customers. So it wouldn’t be one of those enormous warehouses like we see in Ruskin.

Nobody is officially commenting on the Amazon rumor. However, a press release says that the tenant will be one that creates over 200 jobs. The park is close to US Highway 19 and Gandy which makes it a prime location for distribution of products so it makes sense for a company like Amazon. [Source: BizJournals.com]
