Once a Florida Man, always a Florida Man. Even in Kansas.
On Saturday, a Kansas Highway Patrolman was transporting 23 year-old Naples man Joshua Swartwout to a nearby correctional facility when the officer stopped at the site of a motorcycle crash.
While the patrol officer was tending to the crash site on Kansas Highway 25, Swartout somehow managed to get in the driver seat of the patrol car. He then drove off with the vehicle while still handcuffed with his hands behind his back.
Kansas Highway Patrol officers followed Swartout down Kansas Interstate 25. Even after running out of gas, Swartout then began to run on foot.
He was ultimately detained and brought to the Sherman County Jail in Goodland, Kansas.
