Coop’s Scoop: Check Your Toaster’s Crumb Tray

In my defense I was never informed of this part of the toaster.

After coming home from work yesterday, I went to make my normal after-show snack and began toasting two slices of bread. But before I could even think about chilling on the couch, the smoke detectors starting going off and there was a ton of smoke coming from the toaster.

Luckily, there was no flames. But it probably would've got to that point pretty soon after.

And that's when I learned that you should probably empty your toaster crumb tray more than just once every 2 years.
