You may not have heard this name before but Justin Bieber probably knows who he is now. 21 year old Rodarius Green, known as rapper Rod Wave, has the #1 spot on the Billboard albums chart, according to the Tampa Bay Times. "Soulfly" is Green's third album. It was released last month and features two hit singles.

Green's career got a peculiar start. His first show was at a strip club... while he was still in high school. That high school was Lakewood High School in St. Pete. In 2019, he had his first big success when his song "Heart On Ice" went viral on YouTube and Tik Tok.

According to his Wikipedia page, his rise to the top of the charts wasn't without a few bumps. Early last year, he was nearly killed in a car accident. Green suffered internal brain bleeding and other facial injuries. He reflected about the incident in a song called "Through The Wire." The song has the inspiration of "Through the Fire" by Chaka Khan at the beginning. The music video for the show actually shows the wrecked, mangled Corvette. [Sources: TBT, Wikipedia]
