The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Teams have been called out to the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel. They’re trying to end a standoff with one of the guests at the hotel.
Andy Grantham is the owner of the hotel and he called in to the MJ Morning Show and described the situation. He said the man who had reportedly barricaded himself in was staying at the hotel with a girlfriend and child. Andy says now that the girlfriend and child ARE still in the room.
Andy also said all 132 rooms had to be evacuated for safety reasons, and the hotel had been packed because of WrestleMania.
The situation has caused traffic to be a mess for commuters along Hillsborough because portions of it are closed.
