The ride has gotten through a new step toward completion. Here’s what we know.
Though there has not been an announced date, the new ride at Disney’s Magic Kingdom is expected to open sometime during the 18-month-long Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration.
The outside shell roof of TRON Lightcycle Power Run is coming together. If you haven’t heard, the new coaster is what’s being built at Magic Kingdom right now. It will live in Tomorrowland near Space Mountain and the Tomorrowland Speedway.
UPDATE: We added another @bioreconstruct shot to give a better look at the Upload Conduit. This is a rare time when you can easily see Space Mountain through the structure. https://t.co/x7F45Lvhux pic.twitter.com/0B8F9UI6Et— Attractions Magazine (@Attractions) April 19, 2021
The ride has been in action at Shanghai Disney since 2016. You can watch the video below of the ride in action in Shanghai. The Magic Kingdom ride will be a copy of this one. The launch coaster will reach speeds up to 60 miles per hour.
This ride will feature architecture that we haven’t seen before at Walt Disney World. Tron joins other rides that are new to Walt Disney World over the upcoming years. We’ll also see the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot. Epcot is also getting a new nighttime spectacular, Harmonious, and a new themed restaurant, Space 220.
