Pasco County Man Wrestles Alligator To Save Dog

When an alligator grabbed his dog, this owner wasn't going down without a fight.

The alligator, which was estimated to be between 7 and 9 feet, grabbed Jake, a chocolate lab. The 8-month-old puppy was walking with his owner, Mike, along a pond near Paul R. Smith Middle School in Holiday, Florida.

The alligator came from the water quickly pulled Jake into the water. Mike jumped into the water and fought for his puppy's life. Both Jake and Mike suffered bites from the alligator, but both survived the ordeal.

A school nurse helped bandage Mike, and after going to the vet, Jake will also be alright. Each had stitches. A trapper is attempting to find and remove the alligator.
