North Tampa Restaurant And Concert Venue Plans To Reopen
After having announced its closure in 2020, there’s a new plan on the horizon.
Covid-19 hurt business so badly that restaurants were forced out of business. Skipper’s Smokehouse had announced their plans to close back in September.
There hasn’t been a reopening day announced yet. They are hoping to open in June, but the announced date will come later. There are updates on the Skipper’s Smokehouse Facebook page. With the help of some federal loans, They’re letting us know what to expect at what they’re nicknaming “Skipper’s 2.0”.
They have lots of work to do to be prepared for reopening. According to posts by Skipper’s Smokehouse, music will return and acts are being booked. The building is being painted, plus other improvements.
Here are some of the things to know:
- They’ll be open Thursday through Sunday.
- The menu will a new, smaller menu (with some surprises)
- Reservations will be taken
- Skipper’s will be a non-smoking venue.
For the Covid-19 world, there are also other changes coming:
Masks will be needed when not seated. There will be a “safe zone” for people who want to wear a mask during shows.
