Beer drinkers may be sad to learn that close to 10 million gallons of beer were dumped in 2020, according to Bloomberg, com. Supplies of kegs in stadiums, arenas and theaters of all types went beyond their expiration dates. Now, it may be time to celebrate the return to that stadium seat with some of your favorite suds.
RealEstateWitch.com did some research and found which markets made the best beer markets. They took a look at the number of breweries in a market, density of those breweries in markets, number of beers per brewery and the number of beer styles per brewery. After taking a look at 50 different markets, the results are in.
The number one best beer city is... San Francisco. The top stand-out detail was the density of breweries in San Francisco. They were followed by Indianapolis, who were praised for their variety of beers. Chicago, Philadelphia and Los Angeles rounded out the top 5.
Florida was best represented by Tampa Bay, which landed in the number 8 spot out of 50. The key to Tampa's ranking was the "wide variety of beers" available. The number of varieties is 42% higher than the national average, according to the report from Realestatewitch.com.
How did other cities in Florida rank? Well, not so well. Jacksonville was the next best Florida city, landing at #39. Miami came in at #43 and Orlando was #44. The worst beer city in the U.S. was Salt Lake City, Utah. There shouldn't be a big surprise there.
If you enjoy your beer, remember, moderation, and never drink and drive!
