After the votes were tallied, the list is narrowed down to the top 10, and our Florida Aquarium did pretty well. The list led off with Wonders of Wildlife
in Springfield, Missouri. Second on the list was Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Third on the list? Yes, the Florida Aquarium was ranked number three in the nation. According to USA Today, the aquarium features 8,000 plants and animals. The Florida Aquarium features exhibits including the Florida’s Wetlands Trail, Journey to Madagascar, Bays & Beaches and Coral Reef. At Stingray Beach, guests can have contact with stingrays and sharks. Also, the Aquarium is involved in conservation programs such as the Coral Conservation Program, Sea Turtle Conservation Program and Shark & Ray Conservation Program.
Some of the other aquariums can't offer some experiences offered at the Florida Aquarium. The Wonders of Wildlife in Springfield and Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg can't offer is the Wild Dolphin Tour. In Tampa, you can even meet and have contact with penguins!
