Here’s what happened. Largo resident Julia Yonkowski tried to take some money from her account. She thought she saw nearly a billion dollars on the printed receipt, but she was unable to withdraw the $20 she tried to get. Julia then tried to contact Chase Bank to find out what was going on.
As it turns out, it wasn’t a $1 billion balance. It was a $1 billion NEGATIVE balance. That’s why she couldn’t make a withdrawal. No, she didn’t actually owe $1 billion. The account was a joint account with her late husband. The account was frozen by Chase to prevent fraud.
