With all the events getting announced recently, the folks who work at the arena say they're hearing it mispronounced often. Out of towners often call it "Ah-muh-lee" Arena. Some draw out the middle part like "Am-UH-lee." The worst is when they combine both of those. You hear us on Q105 call it "Amuh-lee." So who's right?

The ongoing debate of how pronounce the home of the Tampa Bay Lightning is being put to rest forever in today's Tampa Bay Times. The team at the arena has gone so far as to issue an official statement so people don't get it twisted. If the way you're saying Amalie rhymes with family, you're saying it correctly.
