50 Things That Will Be Sales Tax Free During Florida’s “Freedom Week”

Florida’s first ever “Freedom Week” sales tax holiday starts this Thursday (July 1). The discounts last for one week. Here’s a refresher of what is and what’s not tax free and the items that have time limits.

YES, these items are tax-free:

EVENTS:
Keep in mind the events have to happen this year.
Live music events
Live sporting events
Movies
Museum entry, including annual passes
State park entry, including annual passes
Ballets
Plays
Musical theater performances
Fairs
Festivals
Cultural events
Private and membership clubs providing physical fitness facilities

OUTDOOR SUPPLIES:
The first $15 of the sales price of:
Sunscreen
Insect repellent

 The first $30 of the sales price of:
Water bottles

The first $50 of the sales price of:
Hydration packs
Bicycle helmets

The first $100 of the sales price of:
Sunglasses

The first $200 of the sales price of:
Binoculars

The first $250 of the sales price of:
Outdoor gas or charcoal grills
Bicycles

ON THE WATER:
The first $5 of the sales price of:
Bait or fishing tackle if sold individually (the first $10 if sold as a set)

  • September 27: Lindsey Buckingham

    Lindsey Buckingham plays Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. Now departed from Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey recently announced his first solo LP in 10 years will be out in September. The album’s first single is called “I Don’t Mind.”

    Tampa was originally set to host the last stop of the KISS "End Of The Road" tour.

    If you've been to a Buffett show, you know the real show isn't on stage, it's in the crowd. This will be the 3rd attempt at making this concert happened. Jimmy had shoulder surgery that postponed the concert in 2019. Then our friend COVID-19 meant a postponement of the rescheduled 2020 concert at Amalie Arena in Tampa.

    Miami's show will be on June 18. The next night the tour comes to Orlando. Then the tour moves north but comes back to Florida for a show in Jacksonville on July 2. Unfortunately still no word of any Tampa dates for the tour.

    If you missed them in Tampa, you have one more chance to see the Rolling Stones when the Hackney Diamonds '24 tour comes to Camping World Stadium in Orlando.

    The concert was originally set for March 26. Cher hoped to reschedule, but given the uncertainty of how long we'll be dealing with coronavirus, she has decided to cancel the show so fans can get refunds.
