(Photo by Mike Carlson/Getty Images)Tonight is Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals, but counterfeiters have already got a head start on trying to catch a win.
If you are looking for official merchandise to support your team, be mindful of where you are purchasing fan gear. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is on the lookout for any counterfeit tickets or merchandise that are for sale online.
Since Monday, HSI has busted a store with 51 fake merchandise items. However, this number is expected to climb as the series roll on. Over the years, HSI has busted $600,000 worth of counterfeit merch, according to ABC Action News.
If you find a deal online for an item claimed to be officially licensed, check the price. Odds are, if it's too good to be true, it is.
Good Luck to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Game 2!
