The Tampa Bay Times reports that Pinellas will get its first taste of the Cuban Sandwiches and desserts from La Segunda Bakery and Cafe. The generations-old family business is opening its first Pinellas location at 2436 4th Street North in St. Petersburg.
Given the competitive high-price real estate market in St. Pete, it's no surprise that this La Segunda will be a bit smaller. The Times says this location will mostly be for catering and "grab and go" orders. There will, however, be some indoor and outdoor seating.
La Segunda opened in Ybor back in 1915 and only recently opened its second location, but that one is also in Tampa on Kennedy Boulevard. Most of the signature sandwiches, breads and desserts you know from the Tampa locations will be available at this new St. Pete bakery. They'll be open daily from 6:30am to 3pm. [Source: TBT]
