Former Florida State University Head Coach Bobby Bowden has had tough times in the past few years.
He has been faced with deteriorating health since testing positive for Covid-19 in 2020. Though he fought it off, he was hospitalized again in June. Now. Bowden has been diagnosed with a terminal medical condition,
In a statement to the Tallahassee Democrat from Bobby Bowden and his family:
“I’ve always tried to serve God’s purpose for my life, on and off the field, and I am prepared for what is to come. My wife Ann and our family have been life’s greatest blessing. I am at peace.”
Bowden began coaching the the Florida State Seminoles in 1976 and retired in 2009. He won two national championships and has the second most wins for a Division I coach in history. Bowden was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
