Outback’s Bob Basham and chef Chris Ponte have teamed up for a new fast-casual restaurant.
Slated to open in the fall is the new restaurant Bare Naked Kitchen. The location is on Henderson, where Lauro Ristorante spent many years. The new restaurant calls itself an adventure with “chef-created bowls”, “crisp lavash” (pizza) and “luscious salads”.
This new adventure in dining is brought to you by Basham, who started Outback Steakhouse as well as PDQ and Glory Days Grill. Chris Ponte is known for his restaurants On Swann, Olivia and, of course, Cafe Ponte.
The new concept was created with Covid-19 in mind, and how it has changed the dining experience worldwide. It was designed for takeout or third-party delivery, but still features in-house dining. They opened their first in Tallahassee, where it sits just off the Florida State University campus. The new location will be on Henderson Avenue in south Tampa, down the road from where Outback Steakhouse opened its first location.
Change up your lunch plans this week and visit Bare Naked Kitchen on Tennessee Street! Newly opened in May, it offers delicious bowls, savory lavash flatbreads and tasty salads. We know you’ll love it! #iHeartTally— Visit Tallahassee (@Visit_Tally) June 28, 2021
