Just a few weeks Steve Jerve announced his retirement, there will be another familiar face leaving the weather desk at Channel 8.

Today Ian Oliver tweeted that he will be leaving the station at the end of the week. Oliver said in a goodbye to viewers that he moved to Tampa with his wife 5 years ago and hopes to return someday. During his time in Tampa, Oliver says he'll never forget covering Hurriane Irma or getting to experience being in the city with so many championship boat parades. He says he got to see the Lightning lift the Stanley Cup in person with his father.

Speaking of Steve Jerve, Ian Oliver thanked him in his goodbye message, saying Jerve was his mentor. Oliver says he has to remain hush on what his next career move will be for now.
