(Photo by Greg Fiume/Getty Images)It's hard not to get too excited about this year's Tampa Bay Rays team. After falling just short in the World Series, the Rays followed it up by having the best record in the American League. 100 wins. The team has never done that until this year. So now another playoff run begins Thursday night. And the best part is the road to the World Series starts at Tropicana Field. Here are the most commonly-asked questions about tickets if you're thinking about going!
Are the games already sold out?
No. Fortunately you don't have to deal with ticket scalpers... yet.
What about those $10 tickets?
That special was for the last regular season games. There are no $10 tickets for the playoffs.
How much are tickets?
They start at $40 for upper level seats in left field. Most cheap seats are around $50.
Any way to get cheaper tickets?
Not yet. During the regular season you can often find deals on third party sites, but right now the ticket reselling sites are pricing tickets well above face value. Sometimes you can score a deal last minute, but it's a roll of the dice to head to The Trop knowing you might not get the price you want.
Are seats staggered for social distancing?
No. Tropicana Field has been selling seats at full capacity since July. If you'd like to have some breathing room, the Rays website will let you pick seats and you can look for sections that are less populated.
Are masks mandatory?
If you have been vaccinated, you don't have to wear a mask.
Should I bring cash to the game?
No. Everything is cash-free at The Trop. You can pay by credit card or via mobile payments.
Which games will be in St. Pete?
Game 1 will be Thursday. Game 2 is Friday. The series will head north Sunday and Monday and returns to St. Pete Wednesday, October 13 if necessary.
Who will the Rays be playing this round?
It'll be either the Boston Red Sox or New York Yankees. We'll find out which one when those two teams play tonight.
Can I print my tickets out?
No. They are only using mobile tickets so make sure your phone is charged up!
